Hi, I’m Sara Nelson.
My journey to becoming a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner is deeply rooted in my own personal relationship with food and experience managing chronic health conditions. I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) when I was 16 years old and have struggled most of my adult life with implementing sustainable changes to my diet and lifestyle in order to manage my symptoms. In 2021 I experienced my first flare up of Uveitis in my right eye (chronic eye inflammation) and have been working in close partnership with my rheumatologist and optometrist to this day to uncover and manage the root cause of this autoimmune condition.
One thing both of these conditions have in common is that they are exacerbated by chronic inflammation in the body. What is one of the major factors that contributes to inflammation? The foods we consume. In 2022 I made the decision to take a more holistic and nutrition-based approach to managing my health and that decision led me to becoming a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
My purpose in supporting myself and others through nutritional therapy is to help my community realize a future free of chronic disease is possible by reconnecting to the innate power of food as medicine. I hope to achieve this mission through educating my clients on the importance of foundational whole food nutrition and empowering them to implement realistic, sustainable and individualized diet and lifestyle changes in order to achieve lasting balance and vitality. Implementing lifelong nutrition and lifestyle changes may not always be easy and that’s okay. I get it - I’ve been there before and that is why I’m here to help.

My Nutritional Therapy Core Values
Community
We should never feel alone on our path to wellness. Building a community of support and resources is an important part of my work as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and the services I’ll be providing to my clients.
Self-care
Committing to this work requires a focus on deepening the relationship to yourself and listening to what your body may need. This work can be easily woven into your personal self-care approach as it focuses on what each unique body needs to thrive.
Curiosity
It is important to be curious about what your body is trying to tell you and invest in equipping ourselves with the right education and resources needed to take action. As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I love “putting my detective hat on” and uncovering the information needed to make informed recommendations for my clients.
Creativity
There is no “one size fits all” approach to a client’s bio-individual needs, tastes, preferences or circumstances. It is important to keep an open mind and get creative in how we approach your personalized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations to ensure that you feel empowered and committed to change.
Respect
Any relationship, even one between a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and their client, should be founded in mutual respect for each other and for the process we are embarking on together.
